Low Speed Area (LSA)

Low Speed Area (LSA)

The Low Speed Area solution (LSA) places a limit on the speed at which a forklift circulates through different areas of the warehouse.

This system is specially designed to reduce the speed of the trucks in areas with pedestrian activity or where others are working.

The function of the Low Speed Area solution is to prevent accidents that result from forklifts speeding in areas shared by forklifts and working personnel.

What is it?

The main objective of the LSA Solution is to limit the speed at which forklifts circulate. This electronic safety system is specially designed to complement forklifts’ safety tools and to reduce their speed in areas where there are operators on foot or pedestrians.

What elements compose the LSA system?

The system is composed of three elements:

CODE DETECTION SENSORS:
These are responsible for decoding the reflective bands previously installed, to transmit to the control unit the reading of the type of speed that is determined.

CONTROL UNIT:

It’s installed on the forklift and it’s responsible for managing the speed change of the work vehicle. When the forklift drives under the reflecting panel, the detection sensors decode the zone change and the control unit assigns the corresponding speed in that space.

REFLECTIVE STRIPS:

They are installed in the building - on the doors’ heads or in areas where speed changes occur - and are responsible for indicating to the sensors that there must be a speed modification or special care must be taken in that space.

Advantages

Besides its very easy installation, the LSA Solution stands out for being highly practical and for generating a very large contribution in terms of accident reduction, decrease in accidents and general improvement of the safety conditions in all industries.

How does it work?

Once the system is installed, its operation is very simple, and it requires no action from the operator. The truck that is equipped with the LSA Solution reacts upon entering an area in which the use of the system was predetermined, activating a signal that compels it to adapt to the established limit in the "slow" or "fast" zones.

Where can it be used?

This solution is specially designed for warehouses, loading and unloading docks, industries or work spaces, although it can be perfectly adapted to different work sites that required special attention. In that sense and as our clients have been proving, the possibilities are very broad.

Other Solutions

See what we specialize in and how we do it

Pedestrian Crossing (PCS)

System that offers traffic lights to forklift drivers that warns them when there are pedestrians crossing

icon-benefit
Minimizes risks resulting from collisions between forklifts and pedestrians in high-speed areas

Visual Alerts (VAS)

Informs  pedestrians and forklift operators in situations of dangers by projecting symbols on the floor

icon-benefit
Projections on the ground provide better visibility than those projected above, much better than the widely used mirrors

Traffic Control (TCS)

System regulating warehouse and floor traffic integrating gates, projectors, alert lights and sounder

icon-benefit
Signal control and pedestrian/forklifts segregation systems are being of great benefit and the effects are very easily verifiable
