GMH Tower Storage Machines are designed for storing and handling of various types of heavy goods, especially material made of metal. Tower Storage Machines are often used in the production for intermediate storage of material, near the cutting or bending machines, or as an inter-operative warehouse. The material stored is typically sheet metal or profile rods and tubes.
The single plate tower, with an optional ground plan and height, is created from a very robust welded structure, adapted for vertical storage of individual loading units.
Containers (loading units) are welded structures, dimensioned according to typical shipping formats and weights of metal sheets.
The extractor, which is a part of the lifting manipulator, performs horizontal displacements of the loading unit from/to the storage location in the tower; the lifting manipulator moves the loading unit vertically from/to the transfer position. The construction of the horizontally moving trolley ensures material lifting above container at operator area, which allows the manipulation of entire package using a forklift.
Manipulation of the individual sheets is usually carried out by vacuum manipulator or a magnet.
The double and multi tower system can be equipped with more operator areas, either at front, at back and/or at side machine position (depending on the design of the tower).
Automated vertical (LS) Long Span Tower is designed for the storage of long span material.
The lifting manipulator of the Long Span Tower moves the loading units between storage positions in the tower and the operator area.
The operator area is at ergonomic height. The design of the operator area enables material loading / unloading by a crane.
The operator area can be equipped with load cells for accurate information about the weight of the material on the loading unit.
The touch-screen of Long Span Tower control panel provides diagnostic and operational information and enables to call or send containers by their numbers. Software Control Module provides a higher level of warehouse management system which (beyond usual function to control the flow of stored items) provides also visualization and information specific for the Long Span Tower.
The LS Tower, Vertical Storage System, is designed for long span material storing. The most often it is used for storing of rods, bars and profiles.
The LS towers (not designed as a Mono Tower system), with an optional ground plan and height, are created from a very robust welded structure, adapted for vertical storage of individual loading units. The Double Tower is adapted for storing of individual loading units in two towers (columns) against each other. The Multi Tower is combination of Double Towers. Containers (loading units) are welded structures, dimensioned according to typical shipping formats and weights of metallurgical profiles, bars and tubes.

If there is request for manipulation of entire package by using a forklift, the system can be optionally equipped by material lifting system in operator area.
